Sowing
Sow undercover from February to April, in batches three weeks apart.
Harden off and transplant after about six weeks, once they have at least four leaves.
Harvest
Harvest between June and October, before they turn yellow and before they start to separate.
Protection
Protect from discolouring in the summer sun by folding the leaves over the head.
Cauliflowers need fine mesh netting to protect against cabbage butterflies and pigeons.
A brassica collar around the base helps protect against cabbage root fly.
